About the Author:
Alexander “Al” Feher was born in Manhattan, New York September 7, 1924. He moved to Ronkonkoma when he was 6 months old and attended a four-room school on Long Island
and high school in Sayville. Al entered the army on March 9, 1943 and was assigned to the 78th division in Camp Butner, North Carolina. He was shipped overseas to the European Theater.
Upon his discharge, he enrolled in 1946 and began his studies at Concord University. He graduated in 1949 with a BS in Education. Al worked for United States Steel Corporation from January 17, 1957 to September 30, 1986. Al is married to the former Mary Jane Minton of Welch, West Virginia. They have two daughters, Janey (Lynch, Kentucky) and Susan (Lexington, Kentucky).
