Westview Publishing Co., Inc. was founded in 1978 by Doug Underwood. It published newspapers and books, with its home office in Nashville, Tennessee. The family-owned, independent newspaper provided readers for over thirty years with breaking local news stories, intriguing feature articles, entertainment news, current event reports, educational news and community calendars. Well-known for its loyal readership, the newspaper distribution covered west Nashville and counties west of Nashville: Dickson, Cheatham and Williamson Counties in central middle Tennessee. The newspaper was sold in 2010 to the Memphis Daily News.
In 2003, Westview Publishing started its Book Publishing Division, partly in response to requests from local authors, and partly as a result of our interest in expanding services to the extensive artistic community surrounding Bellevue, Tennessee. Since that time, we've published authors throughout the United States and several foreign countries. We work with authors self-publishing anything from fiction to autobiography, genealogical history to cookbooks, textbooks to motivational works. In 2008, Westview's Book Publishing Division branched off from its roots in the Westview Publishing Company, Inc. and became a free standing company on its own, Published by Westview. In 2013, Published by Westview was restructured to reflect expanding opportunities currently available for authors to publish directly through Ingram Spark and eBooks. Ideas into Books: WESTVIEW ® came into being with the sole purpose of helping authors through that process, and was granted a registered trademark: Ideas into Books: WESTVIEW ®. It currently has over five hundred and fifty books in print. The website can now be found at both publishedbywestview.com and ideasintobooks.net. |
